A campaign illuminated the parliament building in the colors of the rainbow

An campaign lit up the parliament building in the colors of the rainbow on June 11th. Hours before the 14th Sofia Pride, the unusual event is a call to the institutions not to ignore the increased hatred and attacks on the LGBT + community in recent days. In addition to the colors of the arc of the facade, the message “Unity makes us strong. Hatred makes us weak.”

The campaign was orgainzed by the Organizing Committee of Sofia Pride and the organization All Out. The International Movement for More Freedom and Equality announced earlier today that more than 16,000 All Out members from around the world have signed a petition to Interior Minister Boyko Rashkov to ensure the safety of Sofia Pride.

“We all believe that love is a human right and no one should sacrifice their family or their freedom, safety or dignity for who they are or who they love. We insist that you guarantee safety and support for the pride events and demonstrations in all Bulgarian cities. We insist that sufficient police forces be provided to protect the LGBT + community during the Pride events, “said the Pride Organizing Committee.
