Galina Georgieva presented Bulgaria at the TRANSEUROPA Festival in Paris

From 6 to 8 of June 2025, Paris became the stage for one of Europe’s most inspiring events – the TRANSEUROPA Festival, organised by the European Alternatives Initiative. Under the theme “Margins on Fire”, TRANSEUROPA brought together activists, artists, thinkers and communities from across Europe to give a voice to those who often remain on the margins of society – in a context of growing hatred, conservatism and social inequalities.

Among the participants was Galina Georgieva of the GLAS Foundation who represented Bulgaria in an important international conversation on family rights. Galina took part in the discussion “Marginalised parents: protecting family rights at European level”, dedicated to the challenges faced by LGBTI+ parents and other families outside the societal “norm” in different parts of Europe. The conversation covered topics such as legal recognition of parenthood, cross-border family law, social stigma and the invisibility of queer parents – especially in Central and Eastern European countries.

GLAS Foundation’s presence at such international events is part of its long-term mission to make Bulgarian LGBTI+ voices visible, to build bridges of solidarity and to advocate for space for all who live, love and create beyond norms.
