Work IT OUT is launching regular meetups of its club for LGBTI+ and friends
The GLAS Foundation is launching regular informal meetups for LGBTI + professionals and their allies and friends from all areas of business in Bulgaria within its business platform Work It OUT for a diverse and inclusive work environment. The initiative is called Work It OUT Club (WIO Club) and is aimed at both people who are already working and those who are looking for new career opportunities.
The meetups aim to bring together professionals, managers and HR experts from all levels in a friendly environment to share experiences and ideas, provide professional support, and discuss topics related to the challenges to making the work environment in Bulgaria more diverse and open to differences.
The first WIO Club meetup is going to take place on November 20, at 19:00, in Canaal (2 Madrid Blvd., Sofia). The theme of the evening will be “LGBTI+ Superheroes” with special guest speaker Dimitrina Vasileva, Diversity & Inclusiveness Leader in EY. During the event we will discuss what are the superpowers of LGBTI+ employees, how we can develop and use them effectively to advance our careers, and how an inclusive and open work environment can unlock and stimulate them.
The evening will continue with a performance by local drag queen Katrin Bardak (Instagram @katrinbdk) and will end with an informal networking cocktail. Free entrance. Attendees will be able to obtain a WIO Club membership card that will give them access to all LGBTI+ and queer events in Sofia. You can learn more about the event on its FB page.
The GLAS Foundation’s Work It OUT business platform brings together local and international organizations based in Bulgaria that seek to make their corporate culture more inclusive and diverse. The purpose of the network is to promote the formation and development of a positive business and economic environment of equality and equal opportunities for every LGBTI + employee in Bulgaria. Currently, more than 20 companies are partners in the network, including AIG, EY, Microsoft, SAP, HPE, British Council and others.
