“Family like any other” Conference

The GLAS Foundation in partnership with the Bulgarian Lawyers for Human Rights Foundation and the Embassies of France and the Kingdom of the Netherlands is organizing a discussion on the protection of family relations in same-sex couples, which will take place on 29 May 2024 from 9.30 to 14.30 in the Slaveykov Hall of the French Institute.

During the discussion, various aspects of the legal and practical problems that arise for same-sex married couples in Bulgaria due to the lack of legal regulation of same-sex family relations will be discussed.

The various possible solutions for the implementation of Bulgaria’s obligations as a party to the ECHR and as a member state of the European Union will also be discussed, paying special attention to the experience of other countries such as Greece, France and Italy.

Registration for the conference is mandatory. The official language of the event will be English with translation into Bulgarian provided.
