Vandalism over billboards for Sofia Pride 2021

This Saturday, June 12, the fourteenth Sofia Pride will take place. The Pride is already a traditional event in Sofia – a march for the rights of the LGBTI community visited by their relatives and friends and all citizens who share the belief that people have equal rights.

Over the past two weeks, the events planned in the Pride program have been attacked by hostile groups of men who insulted the gathered people, threatened them, covered the spaces with insulting posters and stickers, broke flags and more.

A number of billboards and posters in the capital stating the date of the upcoming Sofia Pride were also damaged. The billboards were torn and covered with “Stop LGBT Virus” stickers

The Sofia Pride Organizing Committee strongly condemns the series of offenses, including possible crimes committed in the last three weeks and directed at the LGBTI community and against events that are part of the Pride’s cultural program.
