The GLAS Foundation and partners are organizing a special event about PrEP at One to One Club in Sofia

The GLAS Foundation is organizing an event dedicated to the topic of PrEP (the so-called Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis, i.e. the preventive pill against HIV) together with Checkpoint Sofia, One to One night club in Sofia and the media partnership of HUGE.bg. The guest of the event is going to be Will Nutland, who is coming to Bulgaria at the invitation of the GLAS Foundation to share his experience and expertise about PrEP, when and how it is used, how it works and whether it carries any risks.

Will Nutland is a health and social justice activist, researcher, writer and health promoter. In 2015 he co-founded PrEPster – a project that seeks to educate and agitate for PrEP access in England and beyond.  Most recently he has undertaken research into “do-it-yourself” HIV prevention and how people can source generic PrEP outside of established health systems.

Immediately after the meeting, the GLAS Foundation will present the French feature film Paris 05:59: Theo & Hugo by the directorial duo Olivier Ducastel and Jacques Martineau. This very French film begins with one of the longest sex scenes (20 minutes) ever made in cinema that depicts the first meeting in a Paris gay sex club between the two main characters Theo and Hugo. They find each other among the naked bodies in the club and experience unexpected emotions, skillfully portrayed by the eye of the camera.

During the remaining hours of the night, they walk through the streets of Paris while the film follows the falling in love, the fears and the worries of two people seeking meaning and love in a mad world. The action of the film begins at 4:27 am and ends at 5:59 am.

Paris 05:59: Theo & Hugo won the Audience Award at the Berlin Festival’s 2016 Teddy Awards.

The movie is in full color, in French with Bulgarian subtitles.

The meeting and the screening are going to take place on April 18 at One to One Club (22 Pozitano Str., Sofia) at 7 pm. For more information visit the Facebook event of the initiative.
