The second meeting of WIO Club is dedicated to coming out at work
Being LGBTI+ is never easy, but being LGBTI+ openly at work can be even tougher, especially in conservative business environments such as the Bulgarian one. On the other hand, being able to be yourself and not pretend that you like, do and enjoy the same things as your heterosexual colleagues can lift a huge weight off the LGBTI+ professional’s shoulders and help them be not just more authentic, but also more productive, satisfied and engaged with their employer.
That is why we are dedicating the second meet-up of the WIO Club to the topic of coming out at work. To that end, we invited Galina Georgieva, an experienced LGBTI+ professional, working for a big multinational company, to tell us about her own experience and give us some useful tips on what steps to take once we have made the decision to come out to our colleagues.
After Galina’s empowering talk the evening will continue with some live music by Aled Ordu Music and a networking cocktail.
Bring a colleague and/or a friend and become part of the growing local community of the leaders of the future. The entrance is free.
The initiative is part of the project ‘Rainbow Hub’, which is implemented with a financial support provided by Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway under the EEA Financial Mechanism. The main purpose of the project ‘Rainbow Hub’ is to empower LGBTI+ communities for activities of advocacy.
